Mommy celebrated another birthday. They seem to be coming a little more often then she would like. The toughest decision to make was the cake selection. I had a craving for Moon cake. Mommy said that is not till next year. I never did ask why? Poor Moon, we can only celebrate every other year. Annya picked out a predictable chocolate cake. Emma wanted a cheese cake. So I made a tough decision easy. We had chocolate and cheese cake. That made Annya and Emma happy and Daddy extremely happy. Yung couldn't voice his opinion at this time. He supported both Sisters. Evidence on his mouth and hands indicated that he enjoyed the chocolate and cheese cake.

Yung also also climbed up the stairs to the third level for the first time. He started climbing up the stairs and reached midpoint and stopped and looked at me as if to say, Daddy I think I need some help and then gave his universal signal to be picked up. Raising his left hand wouldn't get him picked up this time. No Mijo, you started this journey now you must complete it. He put his left hand down and continued his forward progress until he made it to the third level. He then turned back and smiled after he reached the apex of his climb. I made it Daddy!

Yung continues to get smarter. He can't say Blue Ray Player but he knows how to turn it on and take out a DVD. Also when he picks up something from the floor and is told "no" he will give you the item but then he immediately asks for it back as if to say I found it first. When he does find something eatable on the floor, he doesn't hesitate to put it in his mouth and then he turns around to see if anyone caught him taking a quick snack.

Emma has been a great sister. She is always looking food or fruit to give Yung. He is too heavy for Emma to carry; but that doesn't stop her. She puts him in a bear hug, nearly chokes him and drags him from one room to another. He doesn't seem to mind the abuse.

Annya finally has someone she can say no too. Her entire life she has heard no from Emma. Now she has Yung. Annya will be eating a piece of candy and say no junk food for Yung right Daddy? Right Annya. You shouldn't be eating too much junk food either Annya. Yes Daddy, just one more piece ok?

Twenty three months ago Yung put our debate to an end. Should we or should we not bring a child into our world? He would no longer wait for us to make a decision and took it upon himself to swim as hard and as fast as he can to beat everyone else to the egg. He was rewarded for his efforts and dropped into our lives 01/16/10.

It wasn't an easy journey for Yung. When he arrived he was as red as a tomato with skin rashes. Daddy still thought he was a very beautiful baby; Mommy wasn't so sure. Now that he is one; we couldn't ask for a more handsome looking son.

He has had his share of ear infections which were hoping surgery will take care of. But it doesn't help when you have two sisters kissing him all the time (Prince Charming) and wanting to feed him with the same spoon.

Yung has just begun to scratch the surface. Soon he will be walking and opening the doors to life. I thank God for giving me the chance to see the world through the eyes of our son; Yung.

Happy Birthday Mijo!!!

On Jan 16th, this Sunday, Yung will be one year old. He has grown so much, crossed so many milestones! I still remembered how he hated tummy-time. Whenever I put him face down, he would just lay there and cry hopelessly. How he progressed from that to now he crawls as fast as centipede, eludes me. Last night he called me ma-ma over and over, then he continued to say: bao-bao, bao-bao, because I always call him bao-bao, little baby.

The poor little baby. Among my three little ones, Yung surprisingly has the most health issues. Not to mention his neck was completely red and bright, become fertile ground for bacteria. He was on the verge of jaundice, I fed him breast milk nonstop and brought his jaundice to normal; He failed to pass his hearing test, then he passed (Thank God or whatever); Then he needed tubes, then ear infections, then another ear infection, then another; He is constantly congested. Now he needs a second set of ear tubes and adenoids removal.

All of that does not seem to affect Yung much though. Throughout, he is just so sweet and vital and more and more gorgeous each day. That blotched red face has long gone, so is the layered fat chin-chin and the barely existed neck, now this little baby has perfect and fair skin, gorgeous big and expressive eyes, quick and sweet smile, slightly curly hair ... he is my little precious beautiful baby. I sometimes think my kids are too beautiful which may or may not be a good thing.

With three kids, one (sometimes one and a half) full-time job , I had less time to spend with Yung, but at least he comes home very day. Everyday when I come home, the two girls run to me, then little Yung, crawl full speed to me. Mommy-mommy. He cries if I have to use bathroom. Only after I feed him, he will be satisfied and look up and around happily. Emma is the adoring sister to Yung, however, just like the way Emma and Annya play and compete and argue and tell on each other, Annya is also having the complex with Yung, she likes to be the big and loving and caring sister, she also has to be scolded from time to time: Annya, do not take the book away from the baby ...

It was the time of the year, Emma, Annya, even/especially the baby, got a lot of presents. To go high-tech, we got them Zhu-Zhu hamsters, then Wii (Kids fit). As the hottest IT presents, both were sold. So we actually had to wait after Christmas. No matter. I think we are not those people who, on the Christmas morning would tiptoe to the Christmas tree to check for presents, cry in disappointment or jump in joy depending on the available toys. No. We enjoy the presents just the same.

Emma is a sophisticated gamer, she quickly figured out how to jump or run or throw a ball as required by the Wii game, she got many many gold medals. Annya was a little intimidated, however she got a lot of silvers. So she was happy. We are still trying to find a way so Annya be less whinny, and Emma be less overbearing or overly authoritative when being with Annya.

Yung, the little baby, is getting cuter and beautiful each day. He is quick to laugh. He wants more and more tricks. So we do pick-a-boo, he wants another one, he waits, then he bursts out laughing in anticipation. He is like a little bug now, crawls rapidly everywhere. He opens every drawer, put things in and out, give things to mommy then take it back. Finally he said "ma"!

Last year Santa didn't exist for Emma. This year Emma added a twist for Santa. She said that Santa does exist. She further said that the parents are Santa Claus and are the one's buying the gifts for Santa. Her theory is that since parents exist and are buying gifts for Santa; Santa therefore exists. Emma then explained her philosophy to Annya. Annya didn't give Emma's theory a second thought. Annya was content with the gifts she received and didn't care where they came from.

Yung continues to grow mentally. The other day he picked up a pencil from the floor and was about to put it in his mouth. I told him no Mijo and took it out of his hand and placed it on the table. He didn't cry and I noticed his eyes followed me all the way to the table. In his little mind he knew this was something he shouldn't have. Now when ever I say no Mijo; he just smiles and hands over to me what ever he has in his hand as if to say; here Daddy this isn't for me.
