Summer camp is over for Emma. She survived and returned in one piece. Emma was minority in camp. Most of the kids were older than her. The teachers only had good things to say about her. When I would pick her up from camp, all the kids would say bye to Emma. I kept one eye on the boys, but I think it is too early to be over protected. She received many awards for honesty and respect. Lets hope that she continues her good work at home. She has been a great older sister 98 percent of the time. The other 2 percent, she is either fighting or doing a teasing dance to Annya.

Annya spent time at the YMCA doing her gymnastics class. I didn't get a chance to see her perform, but Emma says that she was doing great and was able to do everything that she was taught. We only had a chance to go to the water park twice this Summer. Both times Annya did well, especially when you consider that water to our knee level is water that can cover her little head. She appears to be a little more braver than Emma when it comes to water. I think Annya will be the better swimmer.

It is time to say goodbye to a Summer that never came, anyone ready for a snow ball fight?

What happened to Summer?

Emma has been writing "stuff" for pretty long now, signing her name on birthday cards, making a "No Candy" signs, scribbling out a shopping list, writing a love note to me (I got so many many "Mommy, I love u" notes).

I can hardly read her writing though, there is no correct spelling to speak of, so everytime she has to read to Me. The following is her sample reading, according to her, it reads

I love you
The best love
Valentine is fun
Valentine is fun and is best
I love you
I have a love bug
Love bugs are fun

It is actually one of eligible writings.

Good or bad, I loved them. They made me laugh.

By the way, isn't the way how Christmas is written as Xmas, trucks as trux???

Last Friday, Saturday and Sunday (Aug 7, 8 and 9), we took a mini-vacation in Wis. Dells.

To be exact, we spent most of Friday and a big half day of Sunday driving, sometimes in pouring rain, most of time soaking in some happy Chinese songs. We played the same CD over and over, Louis and I took turns being the DJ. Emma wanted this song, Annya wanted that song, they wanted the same song, sometimes they made comprimises. By the end of our returning trip, I was just happy I did not have to listen to the same old songs again and again.

It was a joy riding the car with the girls. Annya pee-ed once in the car. Oh-oh. We have been training her to use bathroom for a long long while, for a short while she seemed she had learned very well, then all is lost. Louis is especially mad.

To our surprise, we got to live in a cozy, comfy 2-bedroom villa in Wis. Dells, a fully furnished 2 bed rooms, with all coooking supplies, dishes of all sizes, dish washer, everything for a family, minus all of the house-clearning work

We skipped a lot of crazy fun at Dells, no roller-coasters, nor kiddie race cars, no deep long water slides, Annya was too chickened to try the little froggy slide. Even Emma needed a lot of pushes to go on the bigger water slides by herself. In the land of wild intrepid kids, my two girls are in a different category.

We got plenty to do, plenty of sun, lots and lots of water, huge waves (we stood at the edge of the wave pool, waited for the wave to sweep over throng of people and then sweep over our feet, everytime Annya was scared to cry, then she jumped to her feet, extremely proud she survived), round and round of lazy rivers.

On Sunday, Emma and Annya played a little golf, a little sand box, posing for great many not-so-great pictures ... On the way we were talking about another vacation in Christmas ...

What's in a name? If a Rose were to be named something else could it still cut you? Yes! As you may or may not heard, we have a little one on the way. If you haven't heard, Xun was supposed to tell you. We haven't decided what to name our baby. All we know is that it is either a boy or a girl. If you have any suggestions for a name, we probably wouldn't use it. Actually we are leaning towards an Asian name. Even if it's a boy, my name is to common. Sometimes I get confused who I am and there are a lot of Louis that have bad credit.

Emma and Annya are both excited. Emma wants to be a twin. I told her that her chances are not very good. So she is content with being the big sister. Annya is being a politician, she doesn't care, she just wants to have a baby. Hopefully in January my wife will stop getting bigger and we will hear the cries of our new born.
