Sunday I posted a lot of pictures of her, a movie of her slowly crawling on a lawn. Leo and I set a goal to put together of a 30-minute movie of hers when she turns one. Aha, aha, she will be one year old in a month. It is a little unbelivable. I am marvelled at the fact that I have successfully raised a healthy, beautiful baby and now she is almost one. And we have had quite a lot of fun.

Emma is having fun too. She is soooo talkative. As if she could not get enough time to express her thoughts, she woke up around 3 am on Monday morning, ernestly babbled for another 20 minutes. Running her little hand on my face, she pointed at my mouth, eyes, nose while pronounced something. I suspected that she was mimick us teaching her about her eyes, nose ... Leo and I watched her unbelivably, could not help laughing, which made her more spirited

The night before last night, Emma probably had some bad stomach ache. She cried loudly and intermittenly, sounded in real pain. Her little tommy felt hard as stone. No music could appease her. Fortunately it did not last long.

Last night it was funny. She slept at about 10:30, then woke up at 12:30. Then for about an hour or so, she simply refused to go back to sleep. In the dark, she crawled all over the bed, sat up, looked around her totally awake ...

I neglected to blog for emma for quite a few days. My interests dwindled ... Soon enough, I will see only a couple for her each month, then gradually, zero. I hope my hopes for her, my promises to her would not disappear so easily. I hope that the once seemed inshakable determination I held for her, that I will do everything to make her happy, grow physically strong, intellectually superb, will not go into drain.

However she is good, growing quite capable of more and more things. Like standing up, walking with minimum support, babbling profusely, making charming little gestures and big loud laughters, like eating all sorts of fruits, showing a lot of interest in books, playing toy trains and buses, imitating car driving noise, looking at you with wondering eyes ...

She is really smart ... And yeterday, MB got her a drawing board, I hope soon she will be able to draw things on the board. The endless possibilities are still there for her ... For that, I have to work harder, be more disciplined and be kinder ... Yeah, I love her

We got her a baby Mozard VHS yeterday, lively music with many cute little animals, cute little mechanic toys, bright bright colors. We think she likes it, but not as much as her signing time.

I wonder how to draw a line between this kind of videotaps and video games. Which one is more stimulating or brain-damaging?

Emma seems to have developed interest in books, especially touch and feel books. In the very beginning, she was very skeptical and fearful of such a wierd thing, books that you can turn pages but each page there is something furry or slippery. But now she keeps running her fingers along the furry ears of a rabbit in a book, or sticking her finger in a hole of her book.

Two days ago, Emma had her 10-month-old birthday. She does know about it. We did not celebrate. It passed like every other day, probably busier, more frantic. MB got a new apartment and is going to move in three months, which threw us into a new uncertainty. My heart just sank ...

However, Emma grows in spite of anything, blissfully ignorant of anything ... that is a force no one can stop.

She definitely can do so much more now. She have reached all development milestones of her age. She crawls pretty well now, although she prefers much more to walking. As soon as she reaches a thing that she can hold on to she will manage to get herself up. She has shown strong curiosity to a lot of things, old and new, pans, pots, kitchen stuff, books, pianos, her toys ... She talks in volumes, tones and tunes, accompanied by her signs that are only meaningful to her. She eats everything and likes almost anything. Oh, well, she does not care about bananas anymore. And she always prefer breast milk to formulas. At the age of 10 months old! I do not know how can I ever wean her from breast milk!

Seems that I can no longer keep a daily journal for little emma, with my sometimes drepressed, sometimes busy mind. It no longer excites me. We do not even take as many pictures as before. Yeh, we had lakes, we had tons of her naked chubby bathing pictures. There were baby musuems, there were she with me, with leo, then with me again. It must feel boring for minds hungry for new things. Yeah, day from day, Emma is just the same, even though she probably has grown a little taller, her appetite more varied and less selective (baby food is her enemy), her crowling skills more sophisticated, she got more toys, birds ... but still, poor Emma, with an unimaginative me, she seems that she does not change much, not from day to day. I guess I am wishing that she can just grow so good so wise that all of a sudden I would find myself writing to her at her Harvard email address.

Oh, well, I just hope at least I will keep this little blog going, so one day I may have something to look back on. Oh, well, what's the meaning of doing this and that? ...

Anyway, let me try to recall what have happened since I last wrote something for Emma.
